Vic: Post Xmas sales make up for sluggish year =2
Melbourne department store managers say they are pleased by the hundreds of shoppers
who rushed through their doors this morning.
CATHY SULTANA from David Jones says she expects a good day, based on the strong traffic
flows through stores in the city and suburbs.
Myer manager STEVE HOFFMAN says crowds gathered outside the city store before it opened
at nine am.
He says manchester, fashion and footwear are selling well, and many shoppers are thinking
ahead and taking advantage of half price Christmas decorations.
